Effect of diamond dressing on the state of the surface layers of high-speed steel cutting tools

Abstract

The results of a study of the state of the surface layers of high-speed B18 boron steel cutting tools dressed with diamond grinding wheels are reported. The complex influence of diamond grinding on the tool surface layer, leading to an increase in its strength and durability, is discussed.
