Abstract
This investigation was concerned with the nature of changes produced in the structure and properties of flat D16AT-alloy specimens cyclically overloaded (in alternating tension) in air, in a 3% NaCl solution and at elevated temperatures (130 and 160° C). Test results revealed an anomalous reduction in the strength of the specimens after a small number of cycles at 20 and 130° C. The main cause of this effect is the interaction of dislocations with second (hardening) phase particles.
