Synthesis of sulfate-type additives based on alkylphenols

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The alkylphenols obtained by alkylation of phenol, p-tert.-butylphenol, and p-tert.-octylphenol with α-olefins boiling in the ranges 180–240 and 240–320°C have been synthesized and characterized.

     
  2. 2.

    The sulfonic acids of the alkylphenols synthesized have been prepared by sulfonation with liquid sulfur trioxide.

     
  3. 3.

    Sulfonate additives have been prepared, based on the alkylphenol sulfonic acids, which possess detergent and antioxidant properties simultaneously.
