The conversion of high-boiling paraffinic hydrocarbons under hydrocracking conditions

  • Published:
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

It has been established that the principal reaction of high-boiling paraffinic hydrocarbons under hydrocracking conditions over a typical bifunctional catalyst is isomerization.

  2. 2.

With an increase in reaction temperature the degree of branching in the resulting hydrocarbons increases. Most of the isomeric hydrocarbons occur in the isomerizate fractions boiling over the range of the initial hydrocarbons.

  3. 3.

The hydrogenating and splitting activities of the catalysts have a substantial effect on the rates of the principal reactions of paraffinic hydrocarbons which take place under hydrocracking conditions.
