EPR study of the resin-asphaltene substances in a lube oil extract

Summary

  1. 1.

    EPR characteristics have been obtained for fractions of resins and asphaltenes from an Orsk refinery lube oil extract (Emba crude).

  2. 2.

    It has been shown that the magnetic properties of the materials investigated are determined mainly by condensed aromatic and heterocyclic structures; the greatest difference in EPR properties is observed for samples that differ markedly in these structural features.
