Counting and measuring solid particles suspended in lubricating oils

Conclusions

It is proposed to apply the effect of light depolarization by anisodiametric, doubly-refracting objects, which are commensurate with the optical wavelength to count particles in oil. This considerably extends the possibilities of microscopic examination.
