Conclusions
It has been shown that the process of reducing acids to alcohols over a suspended Cu-Cr-Ba catalyst includes a number of consecutive and/or parallel reactions: reduction of acids to alcohols, esterification of acids and alcohols, and reduction and hydrolysis of esters.
