Conclusions
-
1.
A method has been developed for obtaining microspherical alumina by spray drying aluminum hydroxide pseudosols.
-
2.
Specimens of strong microspherical alumina with strength indices of 83–87% have been obtained in a laboratory apparatus.
-
3.
It has been established that the dispersities of the pseudosol particles are governed by the properties of the initial alumina and therefore the preparation conditions; the mechanical strength and bulk density of microspherical alumina increase with the degree of dispersion of the sprayed pseudosol.
