Abstract
A description of a clinical approach to the management of severe crises in mother-infant relationships is presented, together with theoretical considerations involved. The essence of the clinical management involves initial hospitalization of the mother and child in a pediatric ward setting. Three case histories are presented, with common elements in the clinical progression of the cases emphasized. The results and follow-up of the first twenty cases managed in this way are presented and show highly promising results.
