Summary
-
1.
A study has been made of the movement of isolated spherical bubbles, 1.5–6 mm in diameter, in viscous liquids (μ=60–3000 cP) with Reynolds numbers 0.002<Re<2.
-
2.
By means of computer processing of a large number of experimental data, it has been established that the relation between the steady-state rate of bubble rise and the bubble size, over this entire range of parameters, is described with sufficient accuracy by the Adamar-Rybchinskii formula.
