Dual-solvent treating of heavy residua from Volgograd crude

  • Published:
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

In dual-solvent treating of short residua (15.5–16.0% on crude) from Volgograd crude, oils can be produced with viscosities of 27–38 cSt at 100°C, V. I.'s of 83-78, and carbon residues of 0.25–1.0% by weight. The yields of these oils are 6.53–8.05% on crude.

  2. 2.

The production of viscous oils with carbon residues below 1.0% is feasible even when the solvent ratio (Selecto/feedstock) is reduced from 3/1 to 1/1.
