Discharge of suspensions from apparatus

  • Published:
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Removal of a solid phase from a reactor is possible from both fluidized and fixed beds of the solid phase, but only with a definite volumetric ratio of the liquid phase to the solid phase.

Under the experimental conditions, each kilogram of catalyst entrains about 1 liter of free water.

  2. 2.

Removal of the catalyst from the reactor already takes place with sufficient stability with a diameter of the discharge tube equal to 10 mm under hot conditions.

  3. 3.

Within the investigated limits of their diameters, the capactiy of discharge pipes is from 700 to 1400 kg/m2 · sec, calculated on dry catalyst, under various fluidization conditions of the catalyst inside the apparatus.
