Hydropurification of low-viscosity industrial oils

  • Published:
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Optimal conditions for the hydropurification of distillates of industrial “12” and “20” oils over WS2, Al-Co-Mo, and Al-Mo catalysts have been developed. The advantages of using an Al-Co-Mo catalyst have been demonstrated. It is recommended to carry out the hydropurification over this catalyst at a pressure of 30 atm and a temperature of 325°C.

  2. 2.

Replacement of the acid-alkali purification method by hydropurification permits increasing the yield of “12” and “20” industrial oils by 6.1–6.5% (calculated on the distillate) and increases their color stability.

  3. 3.

Addition of an INKhP-46 additive sharply increases the lubricating properties of “12” and “20” industrial oils obtained by hydropurification and also increases their anticorrosion properties.
