Summary

Secondary monoalkylphenols, obtained by alkylating phenol with a 90–140°C fraction of α-olefins on aluminosilicate catalyst, can be used for the synthesis of effective monionic detergents and additives for petroleum-base lubricating oils (VNII NP-360 and VNII NP-370); secondary dialkylphenols can be used to obtain sulfonate type additives.
