Investigation of the pneumatic transport of a copper/silicon alloy along inclined horizontal and vertical tubes

Laboratory equipment was used to investigate the pneumatic transport of finely dispersed silicon/copper alloy by dense-phase flow along vertical, inclined, and horizontal tubes of diameter 52 mm.
Design equations were obtained for calculating the pressure loss and air throughout, thus providing a means of designing a pneumatic transport system for silicon/copper alloy.
