Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Cementite is enriched with manganese during graphitization annealing of white cast iron.

  2. 2.

    The change in the manganese content of cementite had no effect on the microhardness and is not accompanied by phase reconstruction.

  3. 3.

    The graphitization process during annealing of cast iron results from the dissociation of cementite directly, without formation of any intermediate carbide.
