Abstract

This paper presents an exploratory analysis of depressive presentations in 11 psychiatrically hospitalized preschoolers. Each patient's symptom profile and DSM-III diagnosis is documented, and associated phenomena including relationship factors, traumatizations, family psychiatric history, DST response and physical developmental problems are reviewed to identify variables which may have influenced the development or expression of the depressed state.
