Studies on methylatedβ-cyclodextrins and C60 inclusion complexes

Abstract

Solid, water-soluble inclusion complexes: DMβCD/C60 (1:1) and DMβCD/C60 (2:1) can be obtained by kneading. Their formation has been confirmed by UV-vis spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and DSC studies. UV-vis studies also reveal the transformation between the two complexes in aqueous solution. TMβCD has also been studied as the host of an inclusion complex with C60.
