Preliminary heat treatment of castings

Conclusions

The heat treatment proposed for castings of drive wheels made of steel 20KhGSNDML (tempering at 680° for 10 h) completely eliminates casting stresses, reduces the hardness to the lowest possible values, creates a structure favorable for machining, lowers tool costs, and eliminates scrapping as the result of warping.
