Conclusion

Deformation of the teeth in autofrettaging by elastoplastic bending causes texturing of the metal localized in the zone of the critical section at their base. The greatest relative increase in hardness and residual stress of the textured metal is observed with small and medium elastoplastic deformations characterized by an increase in nonuniformity of the structure and an increase in spatial ordering of crystallites. Large deformations of the teeth lead to an increase in thickness of the textured layers of the material but are accompanied by activation of destructive processes such as embrittlement, fragmentation of the blocks, and a reduction in spatial ordering of the structure, which lead to loss of strength of the metal in the zone of the critical section.
