Integral intensities of the characteristic bands of vinyl esters. II

  • Published:
Journal of Applied Spectroscopy Aims and scope

Abstract

Frequencies and integral intensities are determined for the ester C-O stretching bands and for the vinyl C-H stretching and out-of-plane bending bands for the vinyl esters of aromatic and aliphatic acids, and also for the carbonyl C=O and vinyl C=C stretching frequencies. An assignment is given for the ester C-O bands in the 1100–1300 cm−1 region. It is found that the 1246 and 1260 cm−1 modes in vinyl benzoate interact.
