Abstract
Dry residues from aqueous solutions are excited in a heated hollow cathode. The limit of detection and the standard deviation for this method are compared with those for an ac carbon arc containing Na and for the cathode area in a dc arc. The limits of detection are: hollow cathode <ac arc <dc arc.
