Conclusions
-
1.
With a decrease in quenching rate from the intercritical temperature range a change from a ferritic-martensitic to a ferritic-bainitic structure occurs in 05G2S2 steel. At the same time there is an improvement in the combination of characteristics of strength and plasticity and a reduction in the σ0.2/σt ratio.

2.
Oil quenched specimens of 05G2S2 steel possess increased formability in comparison with water quenched specimens with the same level of strength and plasticity.
