Additional information
In 1972, Dr. Thomas was the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health Services Division while on leave of absence from Yale University School of Medicine where he was Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Public Health and Sociology. From 1973 to 1983, Dr. Thomas was Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry at New Jersey Medical School, and Professor of Sociology at Rutgers, Newark. In 1983, he became Professor and Chairman of Psychiatry at Charles Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles as well as Professor and Vice Chair of Psychiatry at UCLA School of Medicine. He is also Chief of Psychiatric Services for Martin Luther King General Hospital.
