In 1972, Prof. Brooks was Professor of Law at the Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey. Since then he has been the Goodwin Distinguished Professor of Law at Nova Law School and the Joseph C. Hostetler Professor of Law at Cleveland State University. He has also held visiting professorships at Princeton University, University of Wisconsin, and University of Pennsylvania. He has served on many advisory committees and lectured on mental health law in the U.S. and abroad. Prof. Brooks retired in 1989 from the Rutgers Law School as the Justice Joseph Weintraub Professor of Law, but continues to write and lecture.
