Picosecond configuration relaxation in the1 T 1u -state of Ag−-centers in KI

Abstract

The relaxation of the optically excited Ag−-center in KI is investigated by measuring the risetime of the spontaneous emission from the relaxed excited state. The energy and number of phonons created in the relaxation process are determined.
