Abstract

A model is proposed to describe the structure of large silicon clusters. The model is illustrated for the 60-atom cluster. A structure consisting of stacked, naphthalene-like planes is investigated. Computational evidence is given in support of this hypothesis, and it is shown to be consistent with experimental photofragmentation results.
