Abstract
Synthesis of the title compound is described and its reaction with bromine is studied. This involves oxidation of the hydrazine moiety and sequential bromination of the benzene and thiadiazolopyrimidine nuclei to give, respectively, 2-(4-bromophenylazo)-7-methyl-5-oxo-5H-1, 3,4-thiadiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine and 6-bromo-2-(4-bromophenylazo)-7-methyl-5-oxo-5H-1, 3,4-thiadiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine.
