Summary
In a comparative study concerning the physical fitness of two groups of Algerian and Czech girl-students carried on as an graduated step-test it is proved that the maximum oxygen consumption is higher in Czech students in average by 220 ml viz. + 13% and + 8,5% converted to kg/weight.
In Algerian students higher ventilatory volumes were determined during the load and the ventilatory oxygen equivalents were also higher than in the Czech group. Between both groups there are no differences in pulse and respiratory frequencies during the load.
