Use of ESR for characterizing exchange-coupled polynuclear μ-oxo complexes of iron(iii)

Abstract

ESR spectra of 13 bi-, tri- and tetranuclear μ-oxo complexes of Fe(III) were studied in the solid state and in solution. On the basis of the data obtained, the broad signal observed nearg=2 for all the complexes was interpreted as resulting from thermal populating of paramagnetic excited states.
