Abstract

In-line Fraunhofer holography is described when the reconstruction is studied at non-image planes, where the pattern size is found to be much larger than the image size in the image plane. This should be generally very helpful for accurate size analysis of smaller particles of known shapes. The general methodogy for two-dimensional object crosssections is discussed with particular solutions for circular cross-section particles. Experimental verification is also presented.
