The stability of stratified shear flows of an inviscid compressible fluid in MHD

Abstract

By the generalized progressing wave expansion method, the effect of a magnetic field on the linear stability of the stratified horizontal flow of an inviscid compressible fluid has been studied. It is found that the magnetic field stabilizes the system.
