Abstract
Recently the author showed that a calculation of the heat-exchange drag on a sphere given by Springett is incorrect, but offered no alternative result. In this paper a calculation of the normal fluid heat-exchange drag is given which is valid for low (stream) Reynolds number. The basic differential equation of the theory must be solved numerically. However, an approximate result is given, valid for low (heating) Reynolds number.
