Conclusions
1. The carbobenzoxy derivative of the C-terminal tetrapeptide of gastrin—the amide of carbobenzoxytryptophanyl-methionylaspartylphenylalanine—has been synthesized by two different routes.
2. In nonnarcotized cats the tetrapeptide obtained causes the secretion of gastric juice with a high content of hydrochloric acid (MR50=11.5 µg/kg).
