Abstract
A numerical procedure is given to determine the static charge configuration and electrical impedance of a circular pool of electrons on the surface of liquid helium. The response for an ac Corbino probe is obtained for arbitrary frequency. By fitting the results to audiofrequency capacitance-conductance data the local charge density and electric field configuration are found for arbitrary confining potentials. The locations of2D plasma modes are also in excellent agreement with those obtained numerically. Analytic forms are derived for uniform charge density configurations.
