Abstract
We have calculated bounds on thermodynamic properties that apply to any superconductor which can be described by the isotropic Eliashberg equations. The boson exchange mechanism giving rise to the attractive kernel is not specified and its size and shape are varied arbitrarily. We consider the critical field deviation function and the dimensionless ratio γT 2 c /H 2 c (0), where γ is the Sommerfeld constant,T c is the critical temperature, andH c (0) is the zero-temperature critical magnetic field. A maximum is also established forH c (0).
