Abstract
Some properties of the La2CuO4−y oxide system are discussed in terms of those of a correlated Fermi liquid. We suggest that, for small oxygen deficiency, this system has a thermal Mott transition at a temperatureT M≈200–300 K. BelowT M, the Fermi liquid tends to metamagnetism, with a susceptibility that increases quadratically withT, consistently with experimental findings.
