Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The design of retorts for chemicothermal treatment must take into account the effect of thermal deformation at high temperatures.

  2. 2.

Retorts exposed to oxidizing and carburizing atmospheres must have multilayer weld seams — an inner seam consitituting not over 50% of the deposit and a cover weld that is resistant to oxidation and carburizing.
