Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Raising the vacuum carburizing temperature from 960° (standard carburizing temperature for races of steel 18KhGT at State Bearing Factory No. 1) to 1040° accelerates the process by 60%.

  2. 2.

    Vacuum carburizing provides a clean surface and can be used as the final operation.
