Immuno-chemical investigations on the problem of the “pregnancy zone”

II. Anti-placenta immun serum

Summary

The placenta is suitable for winning antigens induced by pregnancy. With help of an absorbed anti-placenta immun serum from a placental extract at least 7 lines of precipitation can be obtained by means of immuno electrophoresis.

The placenta immun serum precipitates altogether 3 antigens specific for pregnancy using sera of pregnant women, amniotic fluid, sera from the umbilical cord and from puerperas.

The principal usefulness of absorbed anti-placenta immun serum for the quantitative radial immuno diffusion of pregnancy induced antigens is being studied.
