Summary
Twelve patients in the 12–16th week of pregnancy were given intrauterine infusions of prostaglandin F2α to induce therapeutic abortion. Successful expulsion of the fetus occurred in all 12 cases, the average induction-abortion interval being 16 hours 45 min. In only two cases was the placenta delivered spontaneously.
Undesirable side effects were few compared to those following intravenous infusion of prostaglandin for the induction of abortion.
Zusammenfassung
Mit intrauterinen Prostaglandin F2α-Infusionen wurden bei 12 Patientinnen in der 12.–16. Schwangerschaftswoche therapeutische Abortinduktionen durchgeführt. In allen 12 Fällen konnte eine Ausstoßung des Feten erzielt werden; der durchschnittliche Induktions-Ausstoßungsintervall betrug 16 Std und 45 min. Nur in 2 Fällen folgte die Placenta spontan nach der Ausstoßung des Feten. Unerwünschte Nebenwirkungen waren gering im Vergleich zur Abortinduktion durch intravenöse Prostaglandin-Infusionen.
