Simultaneous appearance of leucocyte isoantibodies and complement fixing thrombocyte antibodies during first pregnancy

Summary

The simultaneous occurrence of agglutinating and cytotoxic leucocyte-isoantibodies was studied in women during their first pregnancy. These isoantibodies showed a positive reaction with corresponding cells of the father in all instances. In addition it could be demonstrated that in the presence of cytotoxic isoantibodies it was possible to detect also complement fixing thrombocyte antibodies in part of the cases. The possible significance of the isoantibodies in case of further pregnancies is discussed.

Zusammenfassung

Es wird über das gleichzeitige Auftreten von agglutinierenden und cytotoxischen Leukocyten-Isoantikörpern während der ersten Schwangerschaft berichtet. Diese Isoantikörper reagierten in allen Fällen mit den entsprechenden Zellen der Väter positiv. Weiterhin konnte festgestellt werden, daß beim Vorhandensein cytotoxischer Isoantikörper teilweise noch zusätzlich komplementfixierende Thrombocytenantikörper auftraten.

Es wird dann über die mögliche Bedeutung dieser Isoantikörper für nachfolgende Schwangerschaften diskutiert.
