Abstract

The solubility of thallous chloride in sodium chloride solutions varies from 16.2×10−3 in distilled water to 3.5×10−3m in 6.0m NaCl. The solubility curve is described by the formation of Tl+, TlCl0, TlCl t-2 , and TlCl 3−4 . At low NaCl concentrations, Tl+ and TlCl0 are the main species and TlCl 3−4 . appears to be more stable than TlCl 2−3
