Abstract
-
1.
Electrolytic iron coatings on steel St3 increase the strength of the cathode—coating system due to the increase in the strength of the outer layers of the base metal.
-
2.
The adherence of the coating to the cathode (part) can be determined from the transition zone in the microsection of a control sample.
-
3.
The strength of the transition zone is higher than that of the coating itself.
-
4.
Steel St3 hardened by plating with iron is recommended as a replacement for high-quality and alloy steels.
