Conclusions

  1. 1.

The character of the changes in the properties after HTTMT depends on the chromium content of the steel. Raising the chromium content in steel of the 40KhNMS type leads to an increase in strength that tends to be retained after tempering.

  2. 2.

The increase in the strength of the steel with 1% Cr by deformation in the austenitic condition makes it possible to obtain approximately the same strength as for steel with 5% Cr after standard quenching, and better ductility and toughness.
