Conclusions

  1. 1.

    Hardening of cold worked steels 40 and U8 during low-temperature tempering is due to strain aging that occurs in two stages.

  2. 2.

    The dislocation density is smaller in steels deformed by hydrostatic extrusion than in steels deformed by drawing.
