On KdV solitons in electrohydrodynamics

Abstract

The evolution of surface waves in a perfectly conducting electrohydrodynamic fluid is governed by a Korteweg-de Vries equation. The velocity of the soliton is found to be independent of the electric field, while its width increases with the increase of the electric field.
