Metal Science and Heat Treatment Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

Chemical etching and electrolytic polishing considerably increase the elastic limit of thin ribbons of Br. Of 6.5-0.15 bronze. The combination of surface treatment with low-temperature annealing in any sequence is the most effective in this respect.

  2. 2.

The positive influence of the chemical and electrochemical treatment is due to the elimination of stress concentrations by the removal of the layer with high residual stresses and the most important deformations of the fine structure.
