Detection of the C171α line in S 252

Abstract

We report a first detection of the carbon recombination line (C171α) toward the H II region S 252. Earlier attempts for detecting C166α line in this region were unsuccessful. This is the first time, as far as we know, that a carbon recombination line detection in S 252 is reported in the literature.
