Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A generalized relationship was obtained for calculating the cooling time of bodies of simple and complex shape.

  2. 2.

    The effective values of the heat transfer coefficient and the generalized Biot criterion hold true only for points most distant from the surface of the quenched bodies.
